Watering My Own Grass
The grass is always greener where you water it.” — Neil Barringham
This weekend I realized I was out of sync. I wasn’t doing the small, steady things that help me be the best version of myself. Without those anchors, I noticed I was becoming snappy and out of sorts — the kind of mood that creeps in when life feels slightly off balance.
So yesterday I began resetting the pieces. I prepared my breakfasts and lunches for the week so I can stay on track with food. I scheduled the dog walker for busy mornings so I can make time for a good workout. Small steps, but meaningful ones.
This morning I woke up, poured my coffee, and opened my meditation app. And there it was — the quote of the day:
“The grass is always greener where you water it.”
The universe, as it often does, offered exactly the reminder I needed.
The grass really is greener where you water it. Care, attention, and intention make the difference.
Today that quote nudged me to refocus and reframe — to return myself to the mental and physical space where I function best. Sometimes we don’t need a dramatic change. Sometimes we just need to remember to water the parts of our life that help us grow.
